current Wolverines series...here's what I don't get

6:55 AM 8/7/07 · They've been doing a whole bit on the supposed truth behind characters with a beastial nature (Wolverine, Sabretooth, Wild Child, etc.) for the last couple of months and a lot of it has been going through what's currently going on and a lot of flashbacks. As far as those glimpses into the past, I have little problem with, but the recent stuff is wonky as all get out.

Especially how things finished up with Sabretooth...but no spoilers for you.

During the inisial bit, in the present a few issues back, Wolverine cut off Sabretooth's hand and a few other choice parts. Rather than let it grow back, Creed just places the removed item back where it just was and his healing factor just reconnected it; clever. However, it shouldn't have been possible to get it lopped off in the first place.

What happened to Sabretooth's adamantium skeleton?

Creed originally got adamantium a stretch back to even the odds somewhat. Then he lost it when Apocalypse decided to give it back to Logan in order to turn him into one of his Horsemen. Then Creed got it back when he re·joined Weapon X. To the best of my knowledge, up until this current run of the Wolverine series, he still had it.

When and how exactly did Creed lose it?

I don't know if Creed lost the Adamantium again, but shouldn't Logan be able to cut through Adamantium with his claws? *scratches head*
Wolverine's claws are adamantium. Just because they're indestructable doesn't mean they can cut through other things that are equally indestructable.
Okay, so I just looked this up on Wikipedia, and apparently, he still has the bone lacing but he doesn't have adamantium connective tissues in his joints and wrists (as opposed to Logan, I'd guess). That's why Logan was able to cut of his hand.
Not quite, guess that's a typo. When Logan cut of Creed's hand it was in the past, before either of them had adamantium. Also, the connective tissues in either of them can't be adamantium or they wouldn't be able to bend their limbs.

Now what? In the present or in the past?

Wiki says he cut it off in the present, when Creed was threatening the Black Panther. At that point, both have their adamantium.

I don't know about the connective tissue. I'm not clear on whether there is no way to make adamantium flexible like, for example, Omega Red's vibranium tentacles. Who knows.
Omega Red's tentacles aren't adamantium, they're carbonadium....a similar alloy with more mallable qualities.

sometimes I'm too geek for my own good.

Yeah, forgot the Black Panther bit. All the flashbacks, there's like 3 or 4 per issue, are making me dizzy.
Carbonadium, vibranium... always get those mixed up. ;)
